SAP: Student Assistance Program
The purpose of student assistance programs is to provide school staff with a systematic mechanism through a team approach for helping students grades K-8 with a range of problems that may contribute to a lack of success in school including attendance, behaviors, health, and academic issues. Teachers and other school staff receive training on how to identify students experiencing problems. Students are referred to a team that collects appropriate data, involves the parent in the educational process, and then determines possible approaches to help the student improve in the areas of behavior, academics, health and attendance.

School Counselor
Our counselor, Karen Garkie, is always willing to offer her services to students. She also teaches an anti-bullying program in the classrooms, a Character class to our 7th grade, and a Leadership class to our 8th grade.
Peer Tutoring
A group of students will assist other students in academic areas. This group will be directed by our Resource teacher Mrs. Petersen and counselor, Mrs. Cuddeback. This program will take place before, during, or after class hours.
